About Us

Who We Are

Western Inclusion and Disability Awareness (WIDA) is a student-led club at Western University committed to building an inclusive, accessible, and stigma-free campus environment. We support students with both visible and invisible disabilities and advocate for systemic change through awareness, events, and peer connection.

Our Mission

WIDA exists to empower students by:

  • Advocating for accessibility and inclusion on campus.

  • Raising awareness about disability issues and experiences.

  • Creating community where all students—disabled or not—feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our Story

WIDA was founded in January 2025 by Amirali Saeedi, a Western student who recognized the need for a student-led space focused on disability inclusion, awareness, and peer support. Motivated by personal experiences and conversations with peers facing challenges like ADHD, sensory impairments, and physical accessibility issues, WIDA was created to amplify student voices and build a more compassionate and accessible campus culture. Since its launch, WIDA has grown into a vibrant community dedicated to advocacy and meaningful change.
